Intumescent Strips For Fire Doors

JA Seals’ Intumescent strips (also known as fire door strips or fire door seals) close the gap between the fire door and the door frame in the event of a fire. Using intumescent strips on fire doors creates a fireproof seal that helps to prevent the spread of smoke and hot gases. Once installed, the intumescent strip coating of our fire seals can lay dormant for many years, only activating when the intumescent seals are exposed to the rising temperatures and pressures in a fire situation. Our fire door seals are a great way to upgrade a fire door and can be fitted to existing fire doors in need of enhanced fire protection.

The intumescent fire strip works by expanding when the fire door is exposed to extremely high temperatures. The expanding fire door strip helps to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading through any gaps in the fire door. The intumescent seals are designed to provide 30-60 minutes of fire protection.

JA Seals combined Fire and Smoke Intumescent Seal also known as cold smoke seals provide additional cold smoke protection, sealing off the gap around the door and providing a permanent seal to the passage of smoke.

All of our fire door smoke seals and fire door strips come in an overall length of 2.1m. Intumescent fire strips are available in 2 sizes - 10mm x 4mm and 15mm x 4mm and our intumescent seals for fire and smoke are 15mm x 4mm.
